At CORE MVMT, we believe fitness is a journey, not a destination. Our team of experienced instructors will help you find the joy in the burn, the strength in the shake, and the community that keeps you coming back for more.

Favorite move: Super Forearm Plank to Pike.

Playlist style: Chill and vibey… expect Rihanna, DRAMA, Remi Wolf, SZA,Victoria Monet, Amber Mark, Tame Impala–a little bit of everything!

Why I love CORE MVMT/Pilates: I’ve been doing Pilates for the past 10 years and I am still madly in love with the method! A few years ago, I quit my last corporate job and decided to open CORE MVMT in January of 2020–little did I know that the whole world was about to change! It was a crazy start but I believe in divine timing and am grateful for the experience. I think the most special thing about CORE MVMT is the community; it took a village to save CORE MVMT from being a pandemic statistic, and I’m beyond blessed to be part of something that is so much bigger and more beautiful than I could have ever dreamed!

Favorite move: Plank to Pike.

Playlist style: I tailor my playlists to the crowd and time of day. Solid beats to get your energy up in the morning or after work. I may go a little slower and mid tempo during the day to help you relax in the middle of your daily hustle.

Why I love CORE MVMT/Pilates: I fell in love with CORE MVMT’s mission to help people be their best selves. I’ve been a personal and group trainer in my free time for over 15 years. I’ve never had a workout center me like yoga but leave me drenched in sweat like bootcamp. It’s THE BEST FEELING.

Favorite move: Leg Circles!

Playlist style: Pop-punk alternative rock and/or pop rap.

Why I love CORE MVMT/Pilates: I found CORE MVMT to be a really safe space, I have always loved fitness, and I really wanted to find a way to help bring a safe space to others! Pilates has taught me a lot about patience and what good comes from practicing it. I also found a lot of peace and relaxation in Pilates… it has truly has changed my sense of being and my overall awareness of my mind and body.

Favorite move: I do love arms in my classes – so I’d say a sumo squat bicep curl off the back platform.

Playlist style: High energy, wake up and do the damn thing playlists–Beyoncé, always Drake, ODESZA, Dua Lipa, the list goes on…

Why I love CORE MVMT/Pilates: I chose to join CORE MVMT because I wanted to share how much I believe in the workout and to coach the style of class I love to take: high energy, slow tempo, boot camp style Pilates classes. Pilates is such an amazing workout and the machine will humble you. Years later and now a coach, I still find myself challenged each and every day I show up to class. I love that Pilates is a low impact, strength focused workout so it is very easy on joints, which complements my long distance runs outside the studio.

Favorite move: All of them! (minus that bungee) I love a good one leg glute-bridge or a floor plank-to-pike off of the back platform!

Playlist style: Rap/Hip-Hop/EDM

Why I love CORE MVMT/Pilates: I was inspired to become a coach because Pilates has helped me to develop a greater sense of discipline and focus, which may have been lacking in other areas of my life. I wanted to share my positive Pilates experience with others by becoming a coach. By helping others improve their fitness level and wellbeing through Pilates, I have found a sense of purpose and fulfillment. I also wanted to inspire others who were in a similar situation to where I was before I discovered Pilates, and help them to achieve their own fitness goals.

Favorite move: My favorite move on the XFormer is a Kneeling Lat Pull Down!

Playlist style: Come find out (or check my Spotify)! I would describe my playlists as delightfully random…

Why I love CORE MVMT/Pilates: I wanted to share my love for Pilates with others and I love this community 🙂 Pilates has strengthened me both physically and mentally. Thanks to Pilates I stand taller, I breathe deeper, and I actually look forward to every single workout for the first time in my life.

Favorite move: Single-sided Hi-Panther

Playlist style: Pop, (Female) Rap, Reguetón, EDM, Throwbacks

Why I love CORE MVMT/Pilates: I love the energy our studio owner, Lisa, has fostered at CORE MVMT – it’s been the same friendly, fun, and non-judgmental space since my very first time on a reformer with Lisa back in 2020 (pre-Covid baby!). I wasn’t sure if life would lead me back to teaching group fitness classes, but I’m sooooo happy it did! I’ve been practicing Pilates for over a decade now, I started with mat and used to teach POP Pilates in college. Teaching pilates is such a rewarding joy in my life, helping people reach their fitness goals and feel strong & confident – I couldn’t think of anything better.

Favorite move: I love a good Leg Circle break 😉 or a classic plank!

Playlist style: It’s a mix of everything – a lot of current pop with some afro beats thrown in.

Why I love CORE MVMT/Pilates: I quickly realized these classes were some of the only 45 minutes I was truly present in body and not thinking about work or some to-do list — such an incredible gift! Lisa has built such a welcoming community at CORE MVMT and I just needed to be a part of it to help others discover the same peace and healing I had found! I discovered Pilates after a near death accident 4 years ago and it quickly became an integral part of my recovery. Pilates has helped me heal and regain my strength — allowing me to not only walk again but even surf 🙂  After 10 surgeries, it’s the one thing I can continue to rely on to help me get back to myself.

Favorite move: Baby Skater

Playlist style: I love music a lot so expect the unexpected! However, I do play a lot of indie rock from the early- to mid-aughts. I also love a good throwback, so you can expect to hear stuff from the 90s, RnB to hip hop, and some of the best pop and rock as well!

Why I love CORE MVMT/Pilates: I’ve been practicing reformer Pilates for almost ten years. Two years ago I changed jobs, moved neighborhoods, and finally had the space to learn how to teach. The CORE MVMT community has been so thoughtful, kind and welcoming. My entire body moves differently with the practice of Pilates: I’m more mindful of how I stand and how I move through space. I’m also much more conscious of how my body is feeling; which days to rest and which days to push myself harder.

Favorite move: Power Lunge

Playlist style: EDM/High Energy Pop

Why I love CORE MVMT/Pilates: CORE MVMT is first and foremost a loving community that just happens to focus on healthy living and making your muscles shake! It’s a place where I feel at home and feel privileged as a coach to share the love and challenge clients to achieve their max potential. A little over 2 years ago I had a major injury at the young age of 35 years that forever changed my view of “working out.” I’ve been an avid gym enthusiast for many years, but always worked out to build muscles. Unfortunately, one fateful day I had a major injury and I couldn’t even pick up a coffee cup. A little bit later, I had surgery to replace discs in my neck. Pilates is what got me back on track. It has allowed me to lengthen my muscles and solidify my core to build a body that is the strongest and healthiest it has ever been.

Favorite move: Super Single-Leg Squats! Anything at the back platform!

Playlist style: Hip Hop to Dance/Electronic

Why I love CORE MVMT/Pilates: Fitness has played a huge role in my life — the time spent unplugged and focused on self improvement has been transformative for me. This experience is something I look to generate for my students and is what motivates me to teach! I also love being part of a community here, surrounded by the best humans around in my favorite neighborhood in the city. I’m all about the mind/body experience CORE MVMT creates. It reminds me to slow down and take my time, in and out of the studio.
